These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern access to and use of Small Plates at https://smallplates.de, operated by Small Plates. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
Questions: stheiveekan2@gmail.com. Report abuse or illegal content: stheiveekan2@gmail.com.
1. The service
Small Plates is an invite-only community product for sharing curated city guides (coffee, food, wine, drinks, and related spots). Features may include profiles, private follow connections, an inbox for follow requests, city browse, maps, imports from public Google Maps lists, saves, and member invites. We may change or discontinue features as the product evolves.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 16 years old to use Small Plates. Access is by invitation. You agree to provide accurate account information and to keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.
You may sign up with email and password or with supported social providers (such as Google or Apple). Social sign-in is subject to those providers’ terms as well. When you join, you confirm that you accept these Terms and the Privacy Policy.
3. Invites
Membership is invitation-based. Invite links may be limited in number of uses. Sharing an invite does not transfer ownership of the service or create any partnership with us. Misuse of invites (spam, scraping, selling access) may result in suspension.
4. Your content
You retain rights in content you submit (for example profile photos, imported lists, notes, and marks). You grant Small Plates a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, display, reproduce, and distribute that content as needed to operate and promote the community product (including showing places on shared city pages and community signals).
You confirm you have the right to share content you import or upload, and that it does not violate law or third-party rights. Place details fetched from Google, Apify, or other providers remain subject to their terms and attribution requirements.
Because Small Plates is a shared guide, venues you contribute may remain in the community city graph after you leave, without continuing to attribute them to you where we anonymise or remove your profile.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- harass others or post illegal, hateful, or deceptive content;
- attempt to access accounts or data without authorisation;
- abuse, scrape, or overload the service;
- circumvent invite-only access, private profiles, or security controls;
- use the service for spam or commercial bulk messaging;
- misrepresent the source of places or pretend to be someone else.
6. Third-party services
Small Plates relies on third parties such as hosting providers, Google Maps / Places / OAuth, Apify enrichment, and OpenStreetMap tiles. Your use of maps and sign-in may be subject to those providers’ terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.
7. Disclaimers
Guides on Small Plates reflect member recommendations, not professional advice. Opening hours, ratings, and venue details can be incomplete or out of date. The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the fullest extent permitted by law.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Small Plates. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under German law, including liability for intent, gross negligence, injury to life, body, or health, or mandatory consumer rights.
9. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or harm the community. You may stop using the service at any time. You can delete your account from the “Your data” section on your profile or by contacting stheiveekan2@gmail.com. Provisions that by nature should survive (including licences already exercised for shared graph content, disclaimers, and liability limits) will survive termination.
10. Privacy
How we handle personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the product changes. We will revise the “Last updated” date when we do. If you continue using Small Plates after changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer in the EU, you also keep any mandatory protections of the law of your country of residence. Courts in Germany shall have jurisdiction to the extent permitted; consumers may also bring claims in their place of residence where required by law.
